Marshall Lee Portivent Jr.

ATTORNEY AT LAW

About Marshall...

Marshall was born to working-class parents in a small South Georgia town. Before becoming an attorney, he worked in various hands-on jobs, including at a meat market, in lawn care, as a finish carpenter, and as a long-haul truck driver.

While in college, he interned at the Lowndes County Public Defender’s Office and worked for attorney Jim Tunison, Jr., later a Superior Court Judge. At Mercer Law, he clerked for Judge Tripp Self, now a U.S. District Court Judge, and worked at a top personal injury and workers’ compensation firm—where he found his passion for helping the injured.

After 3½ years practicing litigation at a respected South Georgia firm, Marshall and his wife relocated to Atlanta. He spent 2 years defending workers’ comp cases before shifting focus. For over 7 years, he’s been dedicated to representing injured clients across the Southeast.

With experience representing both corporations and injured individuals, Marshall has rare insight into how companies operate and value injury cases. His blend of formal education and real-world experience gives him a deep understanding of what hardworking people go through when their livelihoods are disrupted by injury. For Marshall, this work isn’t just a job—it’s a calling.
